The role of a Head of Sales and Distribution

The role of a head of sales and distribution is a challenging position and requires an individual to understand why they are looking to fulfill a career in the bancassurance distribution field.


Responsibilities include:

  • Implement product distribution strategy focusing on Life insurance products across segments to achieve strategic targets.
  • Increase penetration across the key customer segments via execution of sales and marketing campaigns in coordination with Product Managers, Sales & Distribution, internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver the overall business plan
  • Support and Drive Business Performance, from channel/distribution sales performance, to cost management, customer and market penetration
  • Be able to work out strategies that can complement or leverage across all the bank’s product and segment propositions with Bancassurance.
  • Recruit, train, develop and retain a channel of productive Insurance Specialist Managers and Personal Bankers.
  • Develop the team to be able to both farm existing base and increase banker insurance participation
  • Strengthen the company’s existing Bancassurance standing within the market.
  • Understand and continuously develop an ISM and IS sales and compensation model and develop career paths that are relevant to the market in order to attract and retain talents.
  • Ensure sales compliance and quality of work
  • Manage the team within FAIR guidelines and ensure regulatory and sales complaints management requirements are adhered to.

This is a vital role where you will be reporting directly to the Head of Bancassurance Sales in Singapore and is responsible for the delivery of sales budget. The job deals in the distribution of Bancassurance products where you will be able to be creative in implementing strategic plans together with the team.



  • Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management / Banking & Finance
  • At least 10 – 15 years of sales experience in Banking, with at least 5 years in a similar kind of role.
  • Knowledge of retail banking products.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
